Wisconsin pier regulations require all pier owners to review their dock size in compliance with the new 2008 law. - Click to enlarge.

New pier regulations were put in place for Wisconsin in summer 2008. It is required that all pier owners evaluate the size, placement and configuration of their existing or planned pier. Chances are you will have to do nothing BUT you have until April 1, 2011 to make sure.

Wisconsin DNR has provided valuable information to help you assess your pier. Start off by reading 'Wisconsin Pier Regulations - Everything you need to know for 2009'. Need help with just how to determine your pier size? Check out What's My Pier Size, a 3:36 minute video.

These resources, and much more about the new regulations can be found at the Wisconsin DNR web page Waterway & Wetland Permits: Piers, Docks and Wharves. Sharing is caring - Hairy Woodpecker and Grey Squirrel sharing a dining experience. - Click to enlarge.
