The gathering was held at the Pine Valley Lodge on Moen Lake. We had a great presentation about bats by Joel Knutson of Bats on the Landscape. He informed us about the positive roles bats play in our environment and the changing perceptions these "sky puppies" have undergone due to education about them.
The business meeting went off as expected with officer vacancies being filled by member vote. There were numerous door prizes thanks to many local businesses.George Schroepfer was givn a plaque for his many years of service to MLCA.

The event was held Saturday August 12th at Twin Pines on Highway "C".
Plenty of good food and drinks made sure no one left hungry or thirsty.
There were 27 Moen Lake Chain property owners in attendance. It was a great chance to enjoy old friendships and develop new ones.
Nice job, Wisconsin boaters. You, too, silent sporters. And there's a 'tiki barge' in Vilas County that shows how to put safety first into fun! Stats and stories portray a safety scene with many of the boaters who enjoyed the waters during the weekend known nationally as Operation Dry Water. DNR wardens and the 42 other patrol agencies contacted a whopping 8,476 boaters on 3,412 vessels of one kind or another, meaning boats and paddlers. Perfect? No. There was the case of the jet ski going in circles after impaired riders fell off. But, still, pretty good!
