The Association maintains several standing committees and volunteer action teams that focus on monitoring, improving, and protecting different aspects of the chain. Whether it is monitoring water clarity, maintaining channel markers, helping prevent aquatic invasive species, or supporting long-term planning efforts, every volunteer plays an important role in preserving the future of our lakes.

Channel Markers
Safe navigation throughout the chain depends on properly maintained channel markers. Volunteers help place, monitor, maintain, and remove markers each season to ensure boaters can safely navigate channels, shallow areas, and important waterways across the chain.
Clean Boats / Clean Water
With excellent fishing and recreation comes increased risk from aquatic invasive species transported between lakes by boats and trailers. Volunteers assist with watercraft inspections, public education, and monitoring efforts to help prevent invasive species from entering and damaging the Moen Lake Chain ecosystem.
Fish & Habitat
Anglers travel from near and far to experience the exceptional fishing opportunities found throughout the Moen Lake Chain. This volunteer team focuses on preserving and enhancing fish habitat, supporting healthy fisheries, and helping maintain the natural ecosystem that makes the chain one of the premier fishing destinations in the Northwoods.
Water Quality
Monitoring water quality is essential for understanding the long-term health of the chain. Volunteers help collect information related to water clarity, chemical composition, and environmental conditions that provide valuable insight into lake health and sustainability for future generations.
